Research & Audit Approval Commitee

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance and support research and audit activity within Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH), we are pleased to announce the establishment of a new committee dedicated to reviewing applications for research, audit, and other clinical studies conducted within the hospital. 

Who needs RAAC approval? 

All individuals conducting research or audit activity involving CUMH data, patients, or staff must apply including staff-led, student, and collaborative projects with UCC, INFANT, or NPEC. 

 

What types of projects are reviewed? 

  • Research: Generates new knowledge or evidence.
  • Clinical Audit: Compares care against agreed standards. 
  • Service Evaluation: Reviews current service delivery without comparing to a standard. (HSE Nomenclature Glossary of Terms for Clinical Audit

The CUMH Research and Audit Approvals Committee (RAAC), will be chaired by Professor Keelin O’Donoghue and will operate as a multidisciplinary group. 

The committee will convene monthly on the second Tuesday of each month.

Submission Deadline: 

Applications must be submitted by 12:00pm on the first Tuesday of each month
