New website on information on COVID-19 and pregnancy

COVID-19 and pregnancy_Small

A new website has been set up containing the latest information on COVID-19 for pregnant women.

Coronavirus.irelandsouthwid.ie was launched by Ireland South Women & Infants Directorate, a network of maternity hospitals/units in the south of Ireland including Cork University Maternity Hospital and the maternity units of University Hospital Kerry, University Hospital Waterford and South Tipperary General Hospital.

This website is a valuable resource for pregnant women during the current COVID-19 pandemic and features information on how to educate, prepare and protect yourself, listing useful websites from trusted sources.  It also features frequently asked questions by expectant mothers at this time such as attending antenatal check ups, attending with birth partners and provision of breastfeeding supports.

The site provides accurate and accessible information and shares the latest literature and research regarding pregnancy and COVID-19 and will be updated regularly once new research appears.

The website is based on guidance produced by RCPI Institute of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control ECDC
