World Prematurity Day 17 November

On 17 Nov we celebrate World Prematurity Day. A day to raise awareness of premature birth and the challenges it can bring.  We salute the amazing neonatal staff working in all four hospitals in Ireland South Women & Infants Directorate CUMH and the maternity units of UHW, STGH, and UHK, caring for tiny premature babies every day, and supporting their parents.

Due to COVID-19, the annual coffee morning that is usually run by CUMH cannot take place.  As a result, the neonatal staff in CUMH have created a couple of videos to share a few messages to parents past and present.   It's also important to remember how it is even more challenging for families with premature babies at the moment, with access to support networks restricted due to Covid-19. We're thinking of you!

Visiting Hours

In the interest of patient and public safety, we regret that strict visitor restrictions are in place in Cork University Maternity Hospital. We understand how difficult this may be and we will be there to support you. We thank you for your understanding.
