Centre of Midwifery Education (CME)

The Centre of Midwifery Education (CME) facilitates midwifery, neonatology, gynaecology, and other related Continuous Professional Development (CPD) educational programmes for midwives and nurses working within Cork University Maternity Hospital and Cork Community Health Organization.

Philosophy of the Centre of Midwifery Education 

"To promote and support lifelong learning and evidence-based midwifery and gynaecological practice in conjunction with personal and professional development, through the sharing of knowledge and experience so that midwives improve the care they provide to women and their babies."

The Centre of Midwifery Education is located on the 5th Floor at Cork University Maternity Hospital.

Programmes Provided:

The educational programmes provided by the Centre of Midwifery Education are accredited with Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

One of the programmes is accredited with University College Cork (UCC)

All programmes are in accordance with a training needs analysis and in conjunction with national programmes designed by the Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director (OMNSD)
