Visiting hours

Outpatients Department

  • Patients can attend antenatal and gynaecology appointments with their nominated support person.
  • Partners or nominated persons can attend ultrasound departments for early pregnancy scans, dating scans and anatomy scans.
  • Please note that we cannot accommodate children in the outpatients department during your visit.

Inpatients (Postnatal/Gynaecology Wards)

  • A partner or nominated person can attend from 7am to 11pm, no swapping or rotating of visitors will be permitted. 
  • As flu rates are currently highest among children under 5 and unvaccinated children, child visitors will not be permitted to visit clinical areas. Hours out for long-stay mothers to see family members will be arranged.
  • Unexpected events and complications are reviewed on an individual basis.

Delivery Suite

  • The birthing partner can attend when the patient is transferred to the Delivery Suite.
  • The birthing partner can attend for the birth.
  • The birthing partner can attend for delivery by caesarean section.
  • In the antenatal period any patient wishing for the attendance of a Doula in addition to the birthing partner must make the request to the hospital. 
  • Any unexpected events or circumstances are reviewed on an individual basis.

Neonatal Unit

  • When a baby is in the Neonatal Unit both parents can visit their baby together at the same time.

General

  • Partners or nominated person can attend following pregnancy loss diagnosis and any subsequent visits.
