Gynae Oncology
The Gynaecological Oncology service at CUMH diagnoses and treats women with cancers of the reproductive tract.
Types of gynaecologic cancers:
- Cervical cancer
- Fallopian tube cancer
- Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD)
- Primary peritoneal cancer
- Ovarian cancer
- Uterine Cancer
- Vaginal Cancer
- Vulval cancer
If you are diagnosed with one of these cancer types, it's important to consult with a gynaecologic oncologist to guide your treatment plan.
Referral Pathway:
Women can be referred by their General Practitioner (GP), or by Gynaecologists at their local hospital. A Multidisciplinary team will work together to perform a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, which may include a pelvic exam, ultrasound, lab and/or other imaging and blood tests to determine the type and stage of the cancer.
